Galations 2:20-21

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly." Galations 2:20-21

Michele & Shane~June 27, 2010

My sister was married off this weekend to a wonderful Godly man! Many blessings upon this Christ-centered marriage!

8 Months on the Potty

Okay, so I took a little break from elimination communication (Diaper Free Baby) due to the fact that Gideon got really heavy really fast and I couldn't hold him over the toilet anymore. A couple months ago he was able to start sitting on his potty on his own. He has a very predictable poop schedule: once in the morning within an hour of waking up. I've been putting him on the potty with his diaper on because he freaked out in the beginning when I would take it off and sit him down. He would poop in his diaper but be on the potty. I recently started putting him on the potty with no diaper. He was cool with it, but didn't actually go to the bathroom. TODAY HE DID IT! Yay! So, I can officially say that Gideon is pooping on the potty at 8 months and 3 weeks old. He peed on the potty too, but I haven't really been focusing the peeing part. I'm still a little unsure how to work on that part considering he is a boy and he can't even stand up on his own yet. One step at a time I suppose. Still hoping to have him potty trained around the age of one...so we'll see how it goes!

8 Months

Our little man is 8 months already. I really can't believe how fast he's growing up. We went to his 8 month check up this week. 21 lbs-28 inches-healthy, happy baby all around. In the last two weeks he got his first tooth (on the bottom). It's really quite cute. He's making a bunch of new sounds. He gets around quite well too. Still wouldn't call it crawling, but whatever he does he can move fast when he's motivate. He likes to follow me around the house. I have to admit that I love that {for now}. The other day he pulled himself up to get something out of his toy basket. I think we are in trouble now. One of his favorite activities is using mom and dad as jungle gyms.

Love Long Weekends

I so love long weekends. Mostly because of all the family time and partly because my sweet hubby lets me sleep in a little. G likes his morning walks with his dad.

We started off the weekend with a little trip down to central Illinois for a family BBQ. It was great to see family that we don't regularly get to visit with. Especially our West Coast visitor! Love you Aunt Marilyn! We also got to meet Byron's cousin's newborn baby boy. Just 6 weeks old. Such a sweet little guy.

Aunt Leanne helping G cool off

Sunday we spent some of the day at home, some of the day at Menards buying a pool, and some of the day at my parents{for dinner}. Yeah, we got a pool. Just big enough for our little family to enjoy. Looking forward to lots of pool time this summer.

Gideon's Grandma and Aunt's made a little pool for him out of storage container

Monday we ventured out to my aunts house to enjoy the holiday. The rain put a damper on swimming in their pool. When we thought all hope was lost, the sun poked out from behind the clouds and we got a little swim time in.

Having fun in his cousin's Little Mermaid floaty...

Byron is so much more tan than us...

Hope you enjoyed the long weekend too!
